New owners at The Horn of Plenty but the same superb food, outstanding service and attentive staff!

Julie Leivers and Damien Pease are the proud new owners of the award-winning Horn of Plenty Country House Hotel and Restaurant.

Former chef/patron Peter Gorton will spend the next 18 months as a consultant at The Horn of Plenty, helping Julie and Damien, who have backgrounds in marketing and accountancy respectively.  Peter's immediate goal is to help Julie and Damien ensure the Horn's continued success.

Stuart Downie, the Horn of Plenty's Head Chef since June 2009,  remains at the helm in the kitchen.  Stuart trained under Peter Gorton at The Horn, and is now passionately pursuing his first Michelin star, following in Peter's footsteps.

Julie says "We are  fortunate to have inherited a superb team of dedicated professionals, many of whom have worked at The Horn for over 10 years."  She adds " People love the Horn as it is, and we do too.   There are not going to be any drastic changes. It's a case of maintaining standards and improving them."

Peter says "I have every confidence that The Horn of Plenty with Julie, Damien, Stuart and the rest of the staff will go from strength to strength.  I want the the hotel and resturant to continue to be successful. It's been around for over 40 years and I have been there for 20 of those. It's a beautiful place, and remains one of Devon's best culinary destinations."
